A Brief History of New Life Baptist Church
New Life Baptist Church was started in March 2006 by Rev. Kim Harris when he, his wife Samatha, and their 3 children moved to Osburn, Idaho from Denton, North Carolina. Services were initially held in the basement of the Harris' home in Osburn. The church was fully chartered with the assistance of Dr. Allen Barker of Yadkinville, North Carolina on August 12, 2007 with 13 baptized members signing the charter certificate. Outgrowing the confines of the Harris' modest basement, NLBC moved into the No. 10 unit of Cameron Center in Kellogg, Idaho in October 2007. As the church continued to be blessed with growth and new membership it also secured rental, in April 2010, of the No. 1 unit at Cameron Center, utilizing it as it's main sanctuary while retaining No. 10 for it's fellowship hall and Sunday school classes. In November 2013 NLBC acquired the property, facilities, and parsonage of the former New Hope Assembly of God at 1008 S. Division St. in Pinehurst, Idaho. Much has been done to upgrade and modernize the 60's era facilities which were last renovated in 1996. Receiving new direction from the Lord, Pastor Harris announced his pending departure in October 2014. He and his family left NLBC in December 2014 to return to their native North Carolina. The church has continued to grow and benefit from God's blessing under the leadership of it's current pastor Rev. Andrew Inboden, and his wife Anna, of Statesville, North Carolina. Pastor Inboden was appproved as NLBC's new pastor by unanimous vote of it's members in November 2014. He and his wife Anna moved into the church parsonage and began their ministry here at NLBC in January 2015.
